Choko

Choko box cover art has the colors of the Gambia flag with a red stripe, then a white and blue and another white stripe and finally a green stripe.Choko is a traditional game from Gambia in West Africa for 2 players ages 6+. It’s a typical two-phase game: place pieces on the board and then move and capture. The unique aspect of Choko is a concept called “Drop Initiative.” In the first phase of the game, a player may choose to switch to movement tactics until the other player chooses to switch back again to the placement phase. The drop initiative offers players a way to respond to their opponent’s initial placement and really change up the game before all the pegs have been placed.

The chart indicating Choko requires 2 players, plays in 15-25 minutes, features abstract strategy themes, and offers player elimination and point to point movement Mechanics
