COUN 5370 - Career Counseling Across the Lifespan
This guide is intended for use in Dr. Gary Hood's Career Counseling Across the Lifespan course (COUN 5370) and contains some key databases and resources students may find useful for their coursework. Please see the boxes below to search a number of different resources directly. Most important, find my picture on the left to locate my contact information and ask me if you have questions or need any assistance. That is why I'm here!
Please note: This guide is not exhaustive and is only intended to help students get started in their research. Also, this guide was originally created for Dr. Gary Hood's Spring 2015 online course, and although the guide should prove useful for other COUN 5370 courses, this is not its original intention.
Dr. Hood has listed 7 journals from which you can select for this assignment. Below is a list of those Journals and the primary databases you can use to access them. Most of these links should bring you directly to the page for the journal, but in some cases you may need to locate the journal within the database.
**NOTE: If the links below do not work for you, simply follow this link (NGL Journal Finder) and search for the Journal you are looking for. Let me know if there are any problems.**
You will be expected to utilize the APA citation style as you complete your coursework. For introductory information and examples, please view our APA Citations guide.
Also, please note that although there is not an online full-text version of the official APA guide, Newton Gresham Library and SHSU-The Woodlands Center have copies that you can use. Also, the APA has published an APA Style Guide to Electronic References that can be accessed online. This guide will provide you all the information you need when citing electronic information.
