Trent Shotwell is the Newton Gresham Library's Special Collections Librarian. Trent can be found in the Thomason Room of the Newton Gresham Library on the 4th floor. He is from Huntsville, Texas and received his BS in Criminal Justice from SHSU in 2010. He worked for 10 years at the world famous Texas Prison Museum as Assistant Director and has always been a student of Texas history. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2016, he accepted the position as Head of SHSU Special Collections & University Archives. He specializes in Huntsville/Walker County & Texas histories with a specific interest in Texas Prisons.
Away from work he enjoys football, horror movies, video games, target shooting, deer hunting, and fishing -- all with his three kids.
