Data Collection and Management
Once you have a solid plan in place, it's time to conduct your study. Data collection can take some time, and it's important to manage your data thoughtfully (and in alignment with your plan) throughout the process. You will generally also need to "clean" and prepare your data for analysis,
Data Analysis
Once data collection and cleaning are done, analysis can commence. In some cases, you may not be collecting your own original data, but secondary data analysis can be its own fruitful approach if you know how to locate, evaluate, and analyze existing data.
Data Visualization
After analysis, you'll often want to find effective ways to visualize your data to assist others with grasping the significance of your findings. A clean, accessible visualization can make an impact, but you must be sure to represent the data accurately, fairly, and without bias.
Data Sharing
You might decide to share your research data for various reasons, ranging from a funder requirement to do so to simply wanting to further contribute to study your field. Whatever the motivation, you'll need to understand issues like privacy, metadata, and how to select a data repository where your data is most likely to be found and put to good use.
