General Procedure
- Between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, pick up outgoing mail from the Director's Office and fill out peach mail slips (when necessary). Take to bindery and place in outgoing mail.
- When mail arrives from post office, go through each of the tubs delivered. Mail will consist primarily of ILL materials and serials.
- Place serials on the bindery table for Hilda Murillo.
- Put ILL items on a cart for delivery and sort other mail items.
- Take deliveries to ILL. Remaining items will be delivered to the Director's Office and Technical Services.
- Place personal mail in mail boxes in Tech Services. Deliver any Acquisitions receipts to Trina Walker.
- Any mail for Ann Holder, Terrie Newman, or Jackie Conrad will be delivered to the Director's Office rather than to personal mailboxes.
- Serials, collection development, and acquisitions mail should be placed in the appropriate large mail boxes in Technical Services.
- All mail should be delivered on the day it is received.
Technical Services Cart
- Each morning, following the delivery of mail, the bindery cart should be visited.
- This cart is located in Technical Services on the left-hand side of the room near Tanya Cook.
- The cart contains paperback books recently processed by catalogers that will need to be evaluated for digciover or buckram binding.
- Some books will contain digicover flags indicating that subject bibliographers wish to have these titles sent for binding.
- Other books should be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if binding is warranted.
- MUSIC and DANCE books will always be sent for binding.
- Select titles and place them on the mail cart to be taken to the bindery.
- All other items should be placed on a cart and taken to Tanya Cook's area for further processing.
