Procedures
- Yankee Book Peddler (YBP) is a bookseller for academic libraries.
- YBP generates and distributes notification slips which contain bibliographic information related to publications.
- YBP yellow sheets arrive weekly.
- Individual sheets are marked with a three-letter code corresponding to the subject of the advertised item. EX: MTH for mathematics, HIS for history, MUS for music, etc.
- Sort sheets by subject.
- Refer to the Subject Specialist sheet containing a list of subjects as well as the subject bibliographers assigned to them at NGL (see link below).
- Group sheets into bundles by subject bibliographer and secure with a rubber band.
- Place bundles in subject bibliographer mailboxes.
- Choice cards contain reviews related to titles.
- They are distributed on a monthly basis.
- Rather than the three-letter code utilized in YBP sheets, Choice cards contain partial LC call numbers.
- Divide cards by call number.
- Refer to the Call Number subject list to divide cards by subject bibliographer (see below).
- Secure bundles with a rubber band.
- Place bundles in subject bibliographer mailboxes.
