The Newton Gresham Library adheres to broader SHSU policies which permit service animals on campus but prohibit emotional support animals and pets. Please refer to this policy for detailed definitions, handler requirements, and campus personnel obligations.
To the extent possible, the service animal should be unobtrusive to other individuals in the learning, living, or working environment. In part, NGL interprets this to mean that animals generally should not be permitted on furniture, unless necessary to perform their designated service work.
If an animal exhibits disruptive behavior, the handler may be asked to take the animal outside of the building until its behavior is appropriately controlled.
