Usage Statistics

Usage Statistics & Assessment:
To analyze the use of all purchased and subscribed  Newton Gresham Library materials in order to support the research, curricular, and service information needs of university students, faculty, and staff.

Gather, interpret and disseminate valuable library usage and cost statistics for all library material types including:

• databases
• serials (individual journals and journal packages)
• eBooks
• streaming media titles
• one-time electronic orders (OT) (ex. archives, back-files, etc.)
• non-book firm orders (DVDs, music scores, etc.).
• print books

Manage subject areas usage analysis for bibliographers and faculty members

Prepare reports for administrators regarding library material usage

Design data representations (charts, graphs, infographics, etc.) which visually convey library materials usage

(1) Gather, analyze, and disseminate valuable library usage and cost statistics.
(2) Manage and utilize NGL's current statistics tool: LibInsight (Springshare).
(3) Convey statistics to vested person(s) including preparation of reports, including future use of data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
(4) Determine functionality and role of Usage Statistics module of CORAL

De'Andre Hoskins: Electronic Resources Library Assistant II   (ext. 41116)    Email De'Andre

(1) Harvest valuable library usage from vendors/publishers.
(2) Load raw usage data and costs information into NGL's current statistics tool: LibInsight (Springshare) 
(3) Prepare the initial set up of reports to be shared to subject librarians and other external vested person(s). 
(4) Assists with preparing and updating Tableau Dashboards for NGL usage stats

Manage periodic projects throughout the year in order to identify, weed, and maintain the library collection;
gather print collection statistics including circulation reports

Liaison between Technical Services staff and other Library departments

Collaborates with ER Librarian to gather, interpret and disseminate valuable library usage and cost statistics (including annual IPEDS statistics).
