Clinical trials are the foundation of research, and participants in scientific studies are necessary to ensure their success. Advancing society with safer and more effective treatments, vaccines, and medical devices is achieved by including a wide range of diverse populations included in clinical trials. In this animation, Dr. MarkAlain Déry and Dr. Eric Griggs (Doc Griggs) continue their journey explaining clinical trials through a documentary - and we get to see the behind the scenes! Calvin Johnson, a clinical trials volunteer, discusses his process of discovering and participating in a study to heal his injured hand. Dr. Zonia Zewail addresses specific concerns that volunteers like Calvin feel about these studies.
