Library Instruction, Workshops, & Tours

The Newton Gresham Library's instruction program contributes to student success utilizing active learning strategies through a variety of instruction modalities, such as guest lectures, workshops, virtual learning, course integrations, and course-embedded librarians. 

We provide students and faculty with instruction on developing information literacy and research skills, developing appropriate lines of inquiry, source selection, search strategies, professional and scholarly communication, as well as a discipline-specific focus, all of which works best when connected to an assignment.

Librarians can deliver instruction in a library instructional space, in a faculty member's regular classroom, or virtually. The are also adept at developing instructional materials to support classes, as an embedded librarian, through custom course resources and guides, and tutorials.

To request a librarian for your course, complete our Library Instruction Request Form at least 2 weeks in advance:

Tours of the Library, in whole or part, can be scheduled by request at least 2 weeks in advance.
