1. Add a New Resource
   • Name the resource "Example Title [CANCELLED]" --- name of database/journal being canceled followed by "[CANCELLED]"
   • Choose Acquisition Type of "Closing Title"
2. Add the current resource as "parent resource"
   Example:  Mango Languages

3.  Add a subscription end date alert and choose the checkbox to "enable alert" when the subscription ends
(this is when the ER Librarian and Cataloger will be reminded to take out the catalog record and/or A-Z Database entry.)

UPDATE (2019) As SIRSI hides the order information after a record is shadowed - it is critical to add the current (final) subscription start and end dates so that we know when to expect any last usage by, as well as when to actually pull the record (from catalog, A-Z, etc.)
