Welcome to this library guide, created by the FCS librarian. You may email me at any time for assistance in using/finding tools & resources.
How to use the guide: Find resources/tools for research/information related to fashion promotion. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list, but one to get you started with a specific subject related to fashion promotion or on fashion promotion in general.
What's included: databases, recommended books, websites & other tools/resources, including some outside SHSU.
Definitions
Databases: an online organized collection of material (e.g. articles, data sets, images)
Academic/Scholarly/Peer-reviewed articles: Often used interchangeably, these are intended to tell you that your research should include published articles from journals that have been reviewed by other scholars/researchers in the field the journal is published in to ensure quality control.
Tools: items you manipulate to gather data or find information (e.g. Google or a database)
Resources: items not requiring manipulation except the need for you to read/interpret information (e.g. books and articles)
And/Or/Not: Use these words to create 'statements' to focus your search in a database or in the library catalog.
Browsing: Our books are organized by subject. Once you find a book that is somewhat related to your topic (or very specific to your needs), look at the call number. Go to that area to get the book as well as to browse the bookshelves for more books related to the topic.
