Where Do I Search?
We recommend searching library resources to find the most content without being asked to pay for it.
- Engine Orange is the best starting point for books, e-books, journal articles, videos, and other source types in almost all disciplines.
- Google Scholar is a great starting point, too, but use it through the library so that it will automatically link you to things we own (we don't want you to pay!).

Find books, articles, films, and MORE with a single search, from the SHSU library catalog and a large number of selected databases.
Google Scholar (customized to link to SHSU resources) This link opens in a new window
Google Scholar uses the familiar Google interface to search citations of scholarly books and articles. By using Google Scholar through this custom link on the library's website, your search results will automatically include links to online content owned by SHSU.
We also have databases that collect articles on specific subject areas and can provide highly useful specialized search fields.
You can also view ALL databases and filter to just those with specific types of sources -- such as dissertations, newspapers, or statistics.
