ENGL 5308 - U.S. Ethnic Literature Guide

Resources for Summer 2023 graduate course.

ENGL 5308 Resources Guide

Welcome! This guide is intended to provide supplementary resources for your course. Resources, including books, articles, podcasts, and videos, are divided according to author/work. You can also find general multi-ethnic literature resources on this page and overall literature studies resources on the Literature and Literary Criticism Research Guide.

Note: Books listed on this guide that include a call number underneath the title are in print at the library. Otherwise, books are linked ebooks that can be read online or downloaded onto a device for a limited amount of time. If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to log in with your SHSU credentials. Most ebooks are single-user, which means only one person can read and/or checkout the book at time, so if you are unable to log on to an ebook, check with your classmates to make sure it's not in use.

Note (2): Many of the book reviews and interviews listed on this guide are in subscription-based periodicals. The SHSU library pays for subscriptions to several major newspapers, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. If you are blocked by a paywall from accessing an article, you may need to go to the library page and search for the article there. (Tip: newspapers are listed as their own databases. You can find them by clicking the "Articles" tab above the Engine Orange box, then clicking "Databases A-Z" or typing the newspaper title in the search bar.)
