History of Mexican Art: Art Work

Databases

Finding Books

Subject, Author, and Keyword Searches.

Important: The library catalog uses a controlled vocabulary, so if you can't find books in a Subject search for Mexican Women Artists 20th Century, then it may be because that's not how they're organized in the catalog.

Subject Search:  Books entirely about a given topic.  Example:  Books only on Mexican Women Artists in the 20th Century.  Or books only about Diego Rivera (put his last name first, then last to search: Rivera, Diego).

Keyword Search: Books in which your words are found in the record (not the entire book, but in the catalog record you can click on to find more information such as the call number where the book is located).  Searching for Diego Rivera as a keyword, you can get books by him, about him, as well as books by or about people or places that have the word Diego or the word Rivera in the record. Also, you can get work by other people that aren't the artist or about the artist Diego Rivera, if there is more than one in our catalog.

Author Search: Books by the artist or of their artwork on which they're listed as an author (remember: last name, then first name).  For example, a catalogue raisonné.
