What's different about a graduate school resume?
As with any resume, you want to tailor the resume to the position you are applying for. This means including relevant positions and experience.
In the case of graduate school, the position you are applying for is an academic one, often that of a researcher. Your resume should focus on your education, relevant course work - especially if the course was outside of those expected for someone with your major - and any positions you have held related to your field.
For example, if you are applying to a Doctor of Pharmacy program and have been a Pharmacy Technician for the past two years, you may want to include that position and the job duties that have taught you about the operation of a pharmacy.
You may also have relevant volunteer work, such as volunteering in your public library before applying to a Library and Information Science program. Including this position (even though it was unpaid) indicates that you have an understanding of how libraries function and what a librarian is expected to do.
Like your Statement of Purpose, the resume helps show that you are both knowledgeable and interested in the position you are applying for.
