Social Media: Policies

NGL Social Media will monitor the comments and have the right to remove any comments by users.

Comments may be deleted if they are:

• Threatening, attacking, harassing, or embarrassing others
• Promoting hate of any kind
• Using profanity and offensive language
• Not appropriate for all ages
• Off-Topic
• Blatantly spam
• Infringing on copyright law or university policy
• Advertising a specific commercial service
• Knowingly misleading other members
• Reported as abuse 

SHSU Library is active on three (3) social media platforms:  Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram

GOAL: A minimum of two (2) different topics should be highlighted per day so that there is a variety of content from all library social media accounts.  

Suggested posts:

• Promote Library Collections - posts advertising new or existing library resources (books, databases, areas of the library)
• Interactive Discussions - posts that ask questions & encourage feedback
• Advertise Library Events/ Displays or University Events -  advertise library events/displays or University events. Always include the social media handle of any sponsoring college or departments with these posts (ex. @SHSUCJ is College of Criminal Justice).

#PundayMonday - library/literary memes, comics, or puns 

NGL Tip of the Week - NGL services and departments 

#ThrowbackThursday -  University Archives on SHSU and/or NGL past.

Please compose posts that cover current events and are tied to #SHSULibrary resources and/or mission.
