What is a Scholarly Monograph?

A Scholarly Monograph (or "Book") is written by experts in the field of study. The content is usually highly detailed and includes thoroughly documented information on a specific topic.  Sometimes it is reviewed by the author(s)' peers to verify accuracy and occasionally is written by more than one author.
