Engine Orange, SHSU's Library Search Engine

Engine Orange is a powerful - yet simple - tool which allows you to perform one search that finds books, articles, films, and more in the library's catalog and select databases.  Note: Engine Orange is not a 100% comprehensive search of ALL resources.

**If you are off campus, you may need to log into your MySam or Blackboard account before going to the Library's webpage.

Looking for literary criticism on a specific topic?
Try the basic search of (1) your author's name AND (2) the name of your book/poem/play AND (3) criticism.  (For example: "Shakespeare" AND "The Tempest" AND "Criticism".)

What Engine Orange is NOT

Engine Orange is NOT a 100% comprehensive search of ALL resources available from the Newton Gresham Library. We do subscribe to some databases which are not compatible with the technology behind Engine Orange.

Depending on the topic you are researching - especially if it is high-level research on a very specialized topic - you may also want to search individual databases in your subject area.
