About Erin

Howdy; I'm Erin! I've been in the Newton Gresham Library since 2007 (don't do the math, I've been here forever, I'm old!!). I'm the librarian department head for Access Services (think: the Service Desk, plus the folks behind the scenes that get all the books on the shelves) and Interlibrary Services (my people have interlibrary loan superpowers). I also provide Scholarly Communication services (supporting needs in research data management, copyright, scholarly publishing, research impact, and more). I was formerly the History Librarian until about 2020.

Asserting my top five songs was haaaaard, partly because my musical tastes are eclectic, but also because some of my favorite songs and artists don't have official YouTube channels to give you approved/ethical videos (#FirstWorldProblems). I tend to attach to artists or bands and love all their work, more than I attach to individual songs. My top artists are probably Warren Zevon, Kate Rusby, Roger Waters (both in Pink Floyd and solo), and Rush--if I could have found "official" videos to embed, I would have give you Keep Me In Your Heart by Warren Zevon and Build Me a Boat by Kate Rusby.

I enjoy my job to an embarrassing degree, but when I'm not engaged in doing my job, I love reading (especially speculative fiction!!), watching movies, and marveling at my kiddo's spatial awareness skills (e.g., building magnet tile towers).

Erin's Top Five Playlist

It was incredibly hard to choose only one song to represent this album; it is, in its entirety, amazing. If I could live with only three musical albums, The Final Cut would definitely be one of them.
