In this book Colonel Chris Hadfield describes the many adversities he was forced to overcome both in becoming an astronaut as well as during the many hours which he logged in space.  He speaks about what was necessary to succeed during each of those trials and discusses how what the lessons he learned taught him about how to be successful on Earth.
